Lowcountry Farmers Markets

Looking for locally grown produce, locally sourced food or artwork from local talent? Look no farther! The Farmers Market is the place you are looking for. Here in the Lowcountry there are three farmers markets. Since they take place on different days you don’t have to choose. You can go to all three! Here’s the rundown on each one.

Hilton Head Island Farmers Market

Produce from St. Helena Island and Ridgeland, SC offered weekly. You can also find chocolates, sweets and baked goods as well as natural dog treats. A variety of seafood and snacks are on hand to satisfy any craving.

Find that perfect something for everyone, from bath and body products, candles, hemp products to silver, leather and more. Design and decorate with handmade items by local artists. Canvas paintings, sculptures, oyster shell décor, macrame and more are presented by local talent.

Located at the Coastal Discovery Museum at 70 Honey Hill Drive, the Hilton Head Island Farmers Market is open every Tuesday from 9 AM to 1 PM year round, come rain or come shine.

Bluffton Farmers Market

Get to know local farmers. Chat with neighbors and old friends and make new ones along the way. The local Bluffton market hosts vendors of every kind – produce, flowers, spices, herbs as well as fresh, local prepared food. This market steps up its game with local chefs demonstrations, sharing recipes and tips for healthy lifestyle dishes.

Sponsored by the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, the South Carolina Master Gardener Program provides gardening tips, best planting practices, soil corrections and more through a Master Gardener available each week at the market.

The Bluffton Farmers Market, located at 68 Boundary Street at Martin Family Park, is open each Thursday. Hours from September – May are 12 – 4 PM. June, July and August from 10 AM – 2 PM.

Port Royal Farmers Market

Come hungry to this market. In addition to the best of local farmers – seasonal produce, beef, pork, poultry, eggs, breads, cheese, and more, prepared foods abound. Dumplings, crab cakes, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, she-crab soup, tacos (to name a few) are ready for you to chow down. Don’t forget the local honey or cut flowers to grace your table.

Open every Saturday, year round, 9 AM – 12 PM, sunny or not, the Port Royal Farmers Market can be found at 1615 Ribaut Road in the Naval Heritage Park. Please note that while dogs are allowed in the park, dogs are not allowed in the market area.

Grab your market bags and head out to the farmers market. Make that local connection. Get the best (and freshest) of everything at one (or all) of the local farmers markets.
