FALL COOKING CLASSES: CULINARY INSTITUTE OF THE SOUTH

Is your favorite room of the house the kitchen? Do you enjoy whipping up tasty treats for your friends and family? If the answer is yes, then the Fall Cooking Classes offered by the Culinary Institute of the South at Technical College of the Lowcountry may just be what you’re looking for.

These hands-on personal enrichment classes are not just fun; you’ll come away with new skills and ideas taught by talented instructors in a state-of-the-art kitchen at the Culinary Institute of the South located at 1 Venture Drive, Buckwalter Place, Bluffton, SC.

The cost of each class is $150, and aprons are provided. Each class runs from 10:30AM-1:30 PM. Choose from:

Saturday, October 26
Karma Kitchen: Indian Dishes for Entertaining
Owner of Holy Basil, Raju Panjwani, teaches basic Indian cooking methods – think chutneys, curries, sauces and desserts.

Friday, November 8
Cupcakes from Scratch: Frosted Happiness
The Cupcake Queen, Chef Jasmine Stroy-Perry demonstrates how to bake her signature strawberry shortcake cupcakes.

Saturday, November 16
Bake Like a Boss
Pastry Chef John Tanner instructs an introductory class on pie crust and apple pie filling. A yummy bonus includes a pie tasting AND you leave with a pie you can bake at home!

You’re the Chutney to My Samosa: Indian Cooking at Home
Using common herbs and spices found in most pantries, guest instructor Raju Panjwani, presents basic Indian cooking techniques.

West African Cuisine with a Lowcountry Twist
2023 James Beard semifinalist, Chef Bernard Bennett, shares sustainable cooking recipes blending African and Asian influences.

Lowcountry Classics: Shrimp & Grits & Other Favorites
Culinary Institute of the South’s own Chef Damon Dickerson teaches iconic Southern dishes including Shrimp & Grits.
